I make videos to help people get better at Black Ops.
About Me:

My name is Sam, I'm a 16 year old high school senior from Pennsylvania, and making these YouTube videos is my job.

If you wish to get in touch with me about something important, your best bet is to message me on twitter.

I wonder how much 60 mil views translates into for that niche.

Can't say he's being very smart with the money, but good on him for ballin at 16. Bet it'll get him laid.

bad idea to talk about all the money he makes off these videos. his viewers would otherwise have no idea, which is a good thing. probably harmless in the end, but still...just not a good idea.

I think it's fine as long as he doesn't get too specific. He isn't throwing it their face and seems quite humble and mature about it for just being 16. It's not a stretch for even this demographic to realize that 60million views is worth something.

I'm sure this is going to get him some great press and even more views. Hell, someone started a thread about it...

he gets paid from machinima, a big youtube channel where gameplay for all types of consoles are posted, rumor has it 100$ per 10k views, depend on the contract.

The figure isn't confirmed but I believe average payout is $1.50 CPM for youtube partners. Each time one of those 15-30 second video ads play it counts as an impression.

That's a crap mercedes. German cabs/taxi drive it all over :x
nevertheless respect that he found sth ppl really like so I guess he deserves the money he makes.

If you have a YouTube partnership you make a pretty low amount in the gaming niche. For niches like make-up, etc. that have older viewers with credit cards you get paid substantially more.

...Your payment terms are on every 1,000 views. I have no idea what Sam used to do, it was probably a few cents per thousand views.

Some in the gaming niche (Woddy, Sam, whiteboy I believe too) hoped on board with Machinima and get paid by them at a higher amount for advertising. They also call it a partnership and get paid still based on a per thousand view basis.

I know, from those with a partnership (not to be confused with working at Machinima like seananners, hutch, etc), Woody does the most very closely followed my Sam.

Woody said he was going to make around 200k this year, Sam told me he'd do between 250-350 or more depending on growth. But that he's probably not going to grow at the rate he has been the past year going forward.

I only talked to Woody once or twice but talk to Sam quite a bit. He knows that it'll last a year or so and then die off most likely so both have continued plans and the whole YouTube thing is just a side. Woody is a programmer (probably does 100-150k) and is keeping his job and Sam is going to dentistry school next year.

Your boy FTC has got connections, son.

I actually love reading the comments of all these teens bitching that he doesn't deserve to own such a car, and that reality will hit him when he gets a "real" job. What fuckheads.

I have to give it up for Sam, for starting on his channel in late 2009, and 14-16 months later being able to make enough from GAMING subscribers to purchase a nice car and get him through college; that's an accomplishment. All these people in the comments are bitching that he is earning stacks from playing video games, but they fail to see that there are thousands and thousands of gamers on Youtube offering gameplay; but only a handful like Sam that actually pull in decent earnings. That sole difference that separates him from the rest of the gamers is enough to respect what he has accomplished.

I'm not sure why anyone would bitch about it, it should be nothing but inspiring; it goes to show that you can make money doing practically anything if you do it right. Small minds.
