Many people uses find some long tail keywords and then work for that keyword .
People uses long tail keywords , because they are normally easy to rank . If you are picking a keyword like "seo tips" , then doubtlessly it is difficult to rank but if you are picking a keyword like "seo tips and tricks" then it mean , you are easily going to rank in google .
So many people just pick a long tail keyword and buy a exact match domain and then a small seo and boom , there website get top ranks with very less efforts .
But these type of websites can not give you 1000 $ a day [ exceptions are always there]
So people who work on MNS , normally they build a lot of sites like this .
These keywords can be easily rank using some seo softwares .
Some of these people do email marketing and some not .

These type of people do email marketing for sure and they promote affiliate products a lot .

This category is applied by category 2 typo people , for making some extra bucks .
They pick autoblogsamurai or wp-robot and do auto blogging .
they setup more than 100 blogs and after 1 month , they start getting money from there blogs ....

My technique is very strange but if you follow it , you will learn it a bit easily .
On page optimization does not matter a lot these days .
Just ad some meta tags and title in <h1> tag and give a backlink to a authority site like wikypedia.com , ad original content to your site only and do link building .

this website give you many Virtual credit cards , but it will ask your original credit card details once .
give your CC details and ad 50 $ to your entro pay account .
Now generate a VCC and a fake email id .
