Facebook Now Valued At $67.5 Billion Dollars

Like other people in this thread said, Facebook is worth whatever investors are willing to pay for it. Should it be valued that high? I'm still not sure.

Nevertheless, I'd like to pickup some shares myself at the $20-$50 range from some employees before it goes public. If Facebook Deals and they go public in 2012 I'd venture to say you'll see their stock hit $50-$80 per share.

....and $200m profit, maybe.

The valuation puts every user at some absurd number like $150 each. I don't know the math, someone did it though and posted it on TC or TechDirt or some tech blog, don't remember where I saw it. And that is including all the fake/dead/spam profiles. It's fucking ridiculous.

There is definitely another tech bubble and Facebook is leading the way.

Agree 100%. Fb is definitely being over-valued.

how many users does google have? what do you think they are each worth?

value per user is an incredibly stupid metric, but lets work off of just that number and see how close we are

lets assume that facebook stops growing completely today. not a single new user joins. And lets assume that with 4 ad blocks, they get an average of a $2 cpm. Thats going to be high internationally, but probably low for the US.

Then, to hit $150 per user, each user needs to view 75k pages in their lifetime. Now lets say the average facebook session is 20 page views (i have no idea what it is, i'm just throwing out a number) and the average user logs on every other day (their stat, more specifically half of all users login on any given day). Then it will take about 20 years for the current set of users to earn facebook 60 billion dollars, with no other revenue, no cpm growth, and no user growth. So yes, its theoretically possible each current user could end up being worth $150.

But obviously thats an incredibly stupid way to arrive at the $60 billion number as it ignores

1) Facebook is not currently advertising in their mobile apps and smartphone usage is exploding
2) Facebook is still growing users very quickly at a rate of at least 100 million per year (probably higher)
3) Facebook has millions of site integrations and yet has not started an adsense like display network that alone will be worth several billion a year
4) Facebook will become a major player in local deals, and local advertising currently dwarfs all internet advertising by a ten fold metric
5) Virtual currency and micro payments is a several billion dollar a year market and facebook has just started forcing developers to "pay the 30% fb tax"
6) Facebook has now cornered the market on identity management and single sign on, meaning most new websites and tech startups will integrate with facebook first (and potentially only)
7) Social advertising on and social personalization of external websites is still very young and should ultimately lead to higher monetization possibilities over existing display targeting, meaning many sites will earn more money by deepening their fb integration efforts

I could go on and on here, but I don't really think a $60 billion dollar valuation is unreasonable and I would buy FB stock right now if they were public. But what do I know, I'm just the guy that told all of you to buy silver 2 years ago when it was $14 / oz

every time I think the valuation is crazy it get's crazier. might be time to just take the plunge and get in. the min purchase is 10k shares at $27 ea. per the secondmarket release.

This is really a long term bet, facebooks current financials are not that impressive, potential is very high, however.

what makes you to ban. I just provided you an example of Facebook.

I didn't done any wrong.

If, Facebook looks like shit to you they why do you use Facebook??. I'm sure you will be having Facebook account fucker.

Would somebody please ban this fucktard already?

I agree with you. Google is good in terms of Search Engine and no can beat Google search for the next 100 years.

When it comes to Social Media - Facebook is the leader as of now. I think for the next 2 decades it would be the same.

Facebook will eventually drown out Google in value. The day they go public is the day I will be buying up!!

In the initial post I posted about the Facebook and how people are using with an example.

For that an fucker asked me to shit.
