4-8 Week US Importing Delay by DHS

I have not been able to find a credible news source for this but I have have been told by several people about a 4-8 week delay for goods to enter the US. It seems that some new policy by DHS is causing all packages to go though some extra screening or some bull crap and they are not being released by customs.

Best I can find at the moment.. Postal delays to US expected due to stricter screening of packages

My GF also saw several notices by esty sellers overseas.
 


I've noticed a slowdown on things arriving to the US, around 3 weeks extra I'd estimate at the moment.

Its not DHS its the customs office in KY and AK. The NY one is ok.

Watch out the have been stealing packages. They will loop them all over the US until they disapear. UPS insurance doesn't cover it either..

I just had $15,000+ in electronics stolen from the KY customs office.
 
I live in Louisville, I could have gone and picked it up for you LOL

what the fuck? sorry on the loss. who exactly is stealing the merchandise?
 
what a coincidence because I just opened my Shipping Proxy service in Canada. Have your goods shipped to me at my Canadian address and I will forward them to US addresses for a small handling fee

The workers opening your packages to see what's coming in. Happens pretty often with oversea customs, if they see something worth good money, they will attempt to jack it. I knew someone that used to import a lot, and he paid/bribed a custom office to make sure his packages go through them without being stolen.

Fucking getting iPhone cases stolen. Have to keep debiting my Loss of Inventory account weekly.
 
I just bought something for my GF on etsy from a lady in Spain. She mailed it but also said this.

"At these times, there have been many delays in the delivery of international shipments in USA. In my post office have told me that the delay is due to the controls, fixed since last December 8, 2010 by the U.S. Administration, for reasons of air safety. According to this, all international packages must be reviewed. Please, keep that in mind if it takes something more time than they should."

This is what I was referring to, not a problem with customs offices.
