A new Google Exploit that crashes your browser. Click at your own risk.

Removed.

why the hell you start a thread named " Don't click this link" and you post a fuckin' link...dumbass!

Okay, if it's an exploit, explain what it is, what it does, etc.

Don't just say "Don't click this link, it's an exploit" because some dumbass will certainly click it. If it turns out to be a virus / trojan whatever, then you're beyond stupid.

This is a quote from the website:
  • mailto: memory exhaustion? I get the feeling like this could cause a machine or at minimum a mail client/browser to crash due to memory exhaustion. Certaily it could cause you to close your mail client. It's just so buggy, it's difficult to tell what's causing the majority of the issues (the browser, the mail client or the embedded editor), and I get a mixed bag of results on machines. This will probably crash something when you click it, so be warned. It also requires that you have an associated mail client attached to the mailto: directive.

Okay, I accidentally clicked it and IT IS A BAD LINK. Please disable the link mods

-rep for you dumbass.

Fuck, I don't know. But it opened about 100 separate email messages.

Aero, be happy I'm not a mod, you'd be banned. If you know a link is potentially dangerous DO NOT FUCKING POST IT!! Imagine if that had destroyed a bunch of data or caused something really nasty and people had to (at best) do a system restore or (at worst) reformat their hard drives.

Ok let's see..

The Google "Exploit" is the url: http://www.google.se/search?btnI=q&q=<search query>
This will redirect you to the first result of that search query. Can be pretty usefull maybe? Hm :-)

The mailto popup crash script is a seperate thing, and the author of that script doesn't seem to know about the Google "Exploit".

Edit: With "the author not knowing" i mean he doesn't seem to be behind it

The .exe started with an "m", I remember that much. There's nothing in my process list running with an "m" right now though, so hopefully thats a good sign.

I warned before hand that it would crash your browser...don't blame me for your stupidity

You are without a doubt a fucking dumbshit. Period, end of story.

I wasn't dumb enough to click it intentionally, but in trying to copy and paste it, I accidentally triggered it. I'm sure there are others that clicked it intentionally, because it was a live link and human beings are curious by nature.

This is the first time that I have ever recommended someone be banned. That was beyond stupid posting it in the first place. Luckily, it just opened a ton of email messages, so it was relatively simple to fix. Again, just to drill it into you dumb fucking skull, imagine if you hadn't posted it but someone else did, and YOU were the one to intentionally or accidentally click it, and suppose it had been a nasty fucking virus, I doubt you would be so cavalier.

Now, let's take it a step further, lets say this link ended up being a virus and more than one person clicked on it and lost a lot of data. That would have done more damage to the reputation of this community than anything else. Who the fuck would want to join a forum where you can click a link and lose gigabytes of hard work.

That is why I would love to see you banned, because you don't seem to understand the magnitude of what you did. You thought it would be funny to post a potentially dangerous link and say "Hey, don't click this (haha)". Irresponsible, and immature. Go away.

:boid:

+1 for aeroguy
Great information and came with a warning.

You mean "stupid by nature". If someone clicked and lose data, he deserved it.

Great information?!? WTF have you been smoking? There was no information. That's part of the problem.

BTW, you're +1 won't count for anything since you have neg rep. Hahaha!
