I agree. No one should say, "Friend" unless they know the person. Now, I will make the exception of "Mate" or "Bud" since those are more playful and generic.
I suppose it's their comprehension of the English language. They just follow a script, learn one use of the term, and keep at it. It's why they make a lot of plural grammatical errors when you read their "Looking for Work" E-mails.
well i guess they must use the equivalent of their in their home language, just like some americans might use "buddy" or "mate" by Brits.
Why don't you hire Native speaking English writers.
