Your preferred team/task management software?

I need an online software where I can have my teams login, and have to-do lists that I can assign to each person, and where they can submit the work as well.

What management software do you guys recommend for this?

does this allow me to assign individuals certain jobs? I'm playing around with basecamp right now (also created by them), and not sure if i like it. Essentially I'm looking for something like the Odesk platform has.

Yes you can assign to groups or just 1 person...
