What's the rules with using logos on your site? I'm thinking professional sports teams in particular. Like if I made a blog about the Oakland Raiders what are the rules about using their logo on my site. Can I make it part of my logo? Can I just use their logo in the posts? Am I not allowed to use it at all?

Any help is appreciated.
 


I've always had great success with emailing the webmaster or one who runs the site. Send them an example use of logo or just request permission to use it.

You don't want to create a kickass site only to be forced to change or close it for something like that :rasta:

Thanks for the link, Jucify. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking it's a bad idea. I mean look how these fools go after people just for saying the word Super Bowl...I don't think the NFL, MLB, etc. is going to let it slide.
 
Seriously.. it's no fun if you don't try! Dam, I contact corporate sites all the time. There's always room for another site promoting them.

I would not give up that easy.

No guts no glory :D
