So here's another one of those newb* journals that seem to be popping up everywhere now. The main reason I'm starting this is to keep myself accountable for what I do, although help will definitely not be refused.

Here's my situation:
- Very limited funds (i.e. only $100-200)
- Limited time (I'm a student)
- Desire to learn and willingness to work!

So here goes. I've already purchased a domain name (from godaddy, off tdnam, aged about 2 years) and hosting from hostgator. I put WP up on it with a nice theme and a couple 300ish word articles based on two of my keywords. I'm in a pretty competitive niche but I found like 10 keywords that seem very open with a good amount of searches.

Primary monetization will be through CPA offers. I'm already with MaxBounty and will be applying to C2M and A4D this week.

I plan to promote through blog commenting (manual for now, until I figure out an automated solution) and maybe some article marketing.

I've gotten pretty good at PHP over the last month or so, and know a good amount of HTML. Working on learning mySQL now.

So that's pretty much all you need to know about me (probably more than you need to know). I'll update this whenever I find the time and something at least semi-interesting happens, or just mundane updates.

Here we go.

Hello, C2M isn't really for newbs - especially those with low funds, so I would wait before applying with them. Good luck!

To help you out some I would say try something out other than blog commenting to promote. You will be spending A LOT of time to get any type of results and I don't see this making any type of money. I may be wrong but have not heard of anyone making money on campaigns solely through blog commenting.

GTFO of this forum and make some $. Why the fuck would you make a thread telling us what you're going to do? Just fucking do it instead of talking about it.

Yeah, I was just planning on commenting to get some initial backlinks. I'll also be social bookmarking. Anything else you suggest?

Maybe if you read the first two sentences of the thread it would help you craft better replies. Also, I assume those are dickroll links in your sig? I wouldn't post in the newbie section with those, it's a stupid thing to do. And finally, if you didn't want to hear newbies talking about this type of stuff, you might not want to venture into the "Newbie Questions" sections of the forum. Yay for elitist douchebags!
 
onlywire for SBing. make sure to build up the profiles some though. add lots friends. yes, it's a pain in the balls. but it's worth it to be bookmarking with decent profiles.

Nice, thanks for the recommendation. I'll set that up this weekend when I have some time. In the mean time I'm just going to do a tiny bit of blog commenting. My site's indexed along with a couple of the pages.
 
I've put up a Squidoo lens with some starting content – I'll be adding to it over time. I'm trying to make it really nice and user-friendly. I want it to be a portal to my site. So it's nice and completely unique etc etc. Although Squidoo does look VERY spammable.

Hm.
 
Been really busy lately and haven't been able to get anything up. Just popping in here to remind myself that I need to work or people will make fun of me.
