So I think I asked you about this about a year ago, but this is looking more and more attractive again.

On my cpanel servers, using fantastico and wp twin is getting old. How does your cloning work on your system? Is it only wp settings, or can I literally buy a new domain and clone an entire existing site, content, plugins, /home/user/ addon script files, etc..? Additionally, what happens when I have a large wp_db, say 100k+ posts...does this create problematic issues like on other management tools/cloning scripts?

Thanks!

Yes, you can clone an existing site now. For example, login to the demo at http://demo.xmarkpro.com/, and goto the Domains->Domain Manager menu. In the Add New Domain form you'll see a field titled 'Domain Template', and one of the options there is 'Clone Existing Site'. It does clone everything. Plugins, themes, pages, posts, settings, additional files you've uploaded, etc.

Another way is Domais->Domain Manager menu, Templates tab, where you can create / manage your domain templates. They're basically just a local install of WP on your server, you configure as desired, and can instantly clone that template onto new domains.

Additionally, what happens when I have a large wp_db, say 100k+ posts...does this create problematic issues like on other management tools/cloning scripts?

I can't see there being any issues. It dumps the mySQL database using 'mysqldump' via command line, and imports it in via command line, and when it comes to SQL dump files, that's going to be a relatively small file. If the size of your mySQL database gets to several GBs it might start causing problems due to server resources, but 100k+ posts should be fine.

Only possible issue I can forsee is make sure the server the WP site you're cloning from is installed on allows for PHP scripts to be executed longer than 30 seconds, as it'll probably take longer to dump and zip up the database.

Free trials available if you wanted to give it a spin, and ensure it supports everything you need. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.

I've got sites that are between 10-20 gigs that I work with. Any suggestions?

Ok I'll give the trial a spin. Thanks

The sites are 10 - 20 gigs, or the mySQL database itself is? If it's just the sites (eg. you have a bunch of video clips), then it's no worries. If it's the databases themselves, then make sure your servers have a decent amount of RAM so mySQL can properly import / export the SQL dump files.

Give the trial a spin though, and let me know if you run into any issues. If you do, there are ways to calm mySQL down when importing larger SQL dumps.

This looks pretty nice. Quick question though - is it locally hosted, or SaaS? If local, what are the requirements?

The lifetime licenses are hosted by you on your own server, and monthly / trials are hosted by us. If you want to run the free trial on your own server, just drop a support ticket requesting another installation added to your license.

Requirements are pretty basic, and can be found at:
http://www.xmarkpro.com/support/user_manual/installation

PS. Should mention, works fine on a shared hosting account, although a VPS or dedicated with root access is recommended. The software itself isn't resource intensive at all, but it's nice to be able to change server configuration as needed. For example, most shared accounts will only allow PHP scripts to run for 30 or 60 seconds. If you have hundreds of domains that are being backed up to Amazon S3 (fully supported), then that process is going to take longer than 60 seconds, so it's nice to have control of the server configuration.

is this a new version?

I own it, and tried it before but as it (might) have better drip feeding of content then my other solutions for other stuff, i want to give the app another try...

one thing i dont like is that plugin isn't hidden (or wasnt before)... ie. doesnt rename itself to something random which = total footprint (though a slightly paranoid one i admit) still its semi serious....

but i am interested in how far along things have come since 10 months ago when i got the app.

i have grown my own network out to about 350 domains across 8 seo hosts - some vps, some shared whm, one dedi - very few normal shared hosts

is there any way to pay for like an extended couple hours walkthrough of helping try getting it setup and running including a test sampling of sites from each of my clusters and hosting environs to make sure its all working?

i'd gladly pay something for that to give another go and leave a proper review as i do know the territory well.

I'm not sure, what do you mean? Google can't see what WP plugins you have installed. I guess it could do a quick HTTP request to see if xmarkpro.php file exists, but I highly doubt I'm important enough for Google to add xMarkPro into their algorithm. I guess you could rename it if wanted though. Just rename xmarkpro.php to whatever, and within the top of the file, change the "Plugin Name:" line. Will still function the same.

Please note, there's no footprint left behind for Google though. Even with Piwik tracking, it uses an internal proxy setup, so in G's eyes you have Piwik installed on each individual domain, all the while the hits get filtered back to xMarkPro.

For all intents and purposes, totally different software program. I'll admit there were some growing pains before, but everything is 100% now. For example, just take a look through the Latest News, and you'll see the last several months worth of upgrades are just refinements, smoothing things over more than they already are. Give it another try, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Sounds good, and easily handled by xMarkPro.

No, I don't like doing that. You purchased 10 months ago, and with that comes 2 years of free support. Just add me to Skype with the username: kiopa.matt, and I'll take care of you without charge. If you're happy with the software & service though, please tell your friends. :) Or become an affiliate, and make $200/sale.

This looks interesting. Could you give a bit of information on how xmarkpro works for adding multiple domains to a shared cpanel host?

I have a moderate size network that works by using addon domains and changing the wordpress table prefix for each (so I have one wordpress folder serving multiple domains). Would I be able to import these into xmarkpro? And can I add multiple sites to a shared cpanel hosting account with xmarkpro in the same way? Thanks.

To be honest, unsure. I've had reports of people having issues adding domains created with wpMU into xMarkPro. Best bet is to signup for a free trial, and try to add a few of your domains. Then see if you can manage them via the Wordpress->Manage Domain menu.

And can I add multiple sites to a shared cpanel hosting account with xmarkpro in the same way? Thanks.

xMarkPro doesn't use the same WP files for all domains, and instead copies a new installation of Wordpress into each domain. This is done for multiple reasons. Security being one -- if all domains are running on the same set of files, a hacker just needs to take one site down, and it'll affect hundreds of domains. Whereas if each domain is on its own installation, it's only going to affect one domain.

That, and flexibility. Customers need to be able to configure each individual site as desired, which is much more difficult if they're all using the same set of files.

Anyway, if you wanted to see it in action, feel free to signup for the trial. Then Domains->Server Manager menu, select "WHM/cPanel - Shared" in the Server Type select list, and enter your cPanel login info. From there, Domains->Domain Manager menu, and you'll be able to begin creating new domains on that shared hosting account with WP installed & configured as desired.

Let me know if you have any questions though.
