BTW google is wrong (obviously) but still interesting.

Hopefully this is as good as the first. The graphics could hurt or help the game. Sometimes shitty graphics are all you need. It makes the game kind of feel like a board game or something.

I sorta agree with you but it looks like they are doing an awesome job so far.

In the vid they show how they are using the camera to zoom around to make use of the 3D camera sorta like the newest Fallout game. And that worked well i thought.

Otherwise I'm going to stay locked in at isometric.

I think the graphics will grab a younger crowd and I'm sure they're counting on this too... while us diehards on XCOM will buy it regardless.

Years? Surely your joking? If so why the hell did you build a site around release date info?

lol wat? Because there's a hell of a lot more to covering upcoming games than just a shitty release date guess by Google. Videos, screenshots, discussions, etc..

And even if there wasn't more to it, I could give a fuck because people still visit the site. If I actually put more effort into ranking, I could go from 1k a day to xx,xxx a day I'm sure and make $. (hurr durr why the fuck don't I do that)

^-The above response is assuming you're not trolling. ;)

IIT haters hating against other trying to cash it.

In reality I have fond memories around X-Com. Can't wait!

Slightly worried that they have ditched the time units. But the gameplay looks exquisite.

I played the shit out of the original Xcom. I was 13 when that game came out.

The investigating downed crashes and then getting a randomly generated map with turn based play was fucking awesome. Plus, your troops gaining rank as you went was a nice touch. Being able to research and manufacture the technology you salvaged was also great.

It was honestly ahead of it's time in terms of gameplay.

If I had to rate the top 10 best video games of all time, Xcom would definitely be on my list.

Terror from the deep was okay, but nothing beats the original.

It looks pretty good from the vid but i have this dreadful feeling that they will fuck it up and turn it into a dumb ed down console port like they've done with every other game recently. The whole time units thing is a huge indicator of that.

I was seriously not trolling. I'm just surprised that it has been around that long and why you'd pick that sort of project knowing that google is trying to cut you out of the SERPS.

I think it's great that you've pulled it off though

Re: Xcom... The only game that come close to it IMO is civ 2

Well, the only impact it would have would be "game + release date" keywords. There's a ton of other kw's people search for when it concerns upcoming games.. The game itself, +videos, +screenshots, etc.. But even in the case of "release date" keywords, people still click on links.
