www.domain.com working but not domain.com???

Was curious if anyone could give me a quick hand with this.

I recently purchased a new vps with cpanel + installatron. Used installatron to setup joomla on www. domain.com (was given choice of www and without). Everything was working fine and dandy until suddenly domain.com would not resolve BUT...

www. domain.com resolves correctly, and as well as domain.com/index.php. I'm also able to access the joomla admin panel via domain.com/administrator/

it seems as though everything works fine EXCEPT for domain.com....

I'm not sure why it suddenly did this, I looked into .htaccess to rewrite domain.com to www. domain.comhttp://www.domain.com but it still didn't fix it (though even if it did it'd seem like a quick patch rather than a proper fix).

any insight in this would be awsome cuz its driving me nuts!
 


How do you have the DNS set up at your registrar?

If you are just pointing at the server IP address vs. some DNS servers you control, make sure you add A records for both domain.com and www. domain.com, pointing to the IP address. Made that mistake myself last week, duh.
 
my domain.com on godaddy is setup with ns1.hostname.com and ns2.hostname.com as nameservers; where hostname.com is setup with godaddy total dns control pointing ns1 to IP1 and ns2 pointing to IP2.

I'm assuming I'm missing something on the WHM side to ensure domain.com resolves correctly? I'm kinda new to the whole vps thing sorry if I come off a lil newb.

I took a look around WHM under edit DNS zone, what should I be looking for?
 
*update, just as it randomly started happening, it fixed itself as well ... guess i can't complain lol
