WTF Is Wrong WIth My Adwords

Ok I started AF as sort of a hobby a few months ago. Unlike most I started my PPC on Yahoo. Ive recently decided to try out adwords and shit was I in for a surprise. My question is: I can insert keywords in Adwords and it states I would be in estimated 2-3 position.

Ok I understand its a estimate but instead of being in 2-3 position it puts me on page 58!! . Is this a quality score issue?

I think the estimate works without taking quality score into consideration. Plus, I don't think it's based on other competitor bids, but on the amount of other bidders.

I don't even know what you are trying to say. AdSense says you could get position 2-3 of their ad placement but doesn't guarantee it. If you are advertising in a market that has 58 pages of ads on Google, then I would have to say it might be a little saturated. If you are talking about page 58 of the serps then you are confused (I know I am now).

Their estimator tool is useless, it's never accurate. You have to just bid up high initially to get any clicks and to show on the first page of results, then you can lower your bids later once you establish a good ctr and qs.

Or you can take the slow route and dump a zillion long tail keywords into your account at very low bids, (this route is like watching paint dry, but it works too).

If your using a broad keyword, they i believe it is an AVERAGE position across that keyword.

It is not a quality score issue. Their estimating tool is simply useless. It is designed to get you to start your campaign, then you'll hopefully accept to be at page 58 which I never do.

What do other people do?
