Assuming I provide legit leads but none of them actually convert (hypothetically) will ad networks drop me? Copeac and azoogle are who I am looking at dealing with. Im just afraid of dumping money into PPC advertising, make money with whatever ad network and then have my account be disabled before receiving my payment. Any help?

I am not speaking from experience but a friend of mine got dropped from a pay per lead program because his leads weren't converting. He still got paid for his leads in full.

So to answer your question, you should still get paid even if they don't convert however the publisher will most likely ban you from their program. By publisher I don't mean Azoogle or Copeac but the actual program.

This is also something you can ask your AM about, I am sure they have seen it all. You need to be sure to build a strong relationship with your AM (unless he is a tool, then you just go to another affiliate network - their loss).

I ran some traffic before that didn't convert over. Like a LOT of it. First I got throttled back for # of leads, then I got taken off that specific offer. Then I switched who I was sending the traffic to...and voila. It started converting. Shop around offers, and see how it works out.

I haven't heard of networks banning for that, but I do know that advertisers will stop accepting your leads if they are not converting.

i would suggest you segment your traffic with subids. That way, if the leads are not backing out for the advertiser, at least you can ask them to narrow down which segment is not working , and get rid of those. By focusing on the good segments, you can start converting for the advertiser, and they may even be able to increase your payout.

Hahah great sig Ruck. Swear to god my girlfriend sang that fucking song to me at someone's karaoke birthday party saturday night.

I haven't heard of people getting banned either, but yeah, companies get pissy if they're paying you for leads that don't convert.

I'm always surprised when groups pay for leads that provide no returns.
I mean, even a postcode or something generates marketing info you can sell later.
In the -long run-, you may be better off with a group that has a higher payout on conversions, but no payout on leads. They're unlikely to drop you, and considering your success is their success, they may even attempt to help you perform better.

Typically it takes more than just unconverting leads to get banned, as well much depends on volume, and what the merchant defines as converting.

If conversion = sale, and you aren't converting, it would be normal for the network/merchant to pull you from the campaign but still pay you for the leads presuming everything looks OK with the data and traffic sources.

If conversion = confirming an email or some other simple action, and you aren't converting at all, it'll likely lead to an investigation since such results are very rare from legit traffic.
