Kids.... is there a way to set up apache so EVERY account created has wildcard subdomains automatically?

I'm not a server admin, but it seems to me it should be possible.... just need a point in the right direction.

I believe you can put rewrite rules into the httpd.conf file, and rewrite for everyone *.domain.tld to domain.tld/* ... but when you ask this question, I'm not sure if you're speaking apache-wise or dns-wise. You can probably do something depending on how your dns fulfilment is written to add a line for wildcard resolution at the end of the file.

Did that make any sense?
You need 2 things, you need people to be able to type in "subdomain.domain.tld" and get somewhere (dns) and you need something to show them when they get there (apache).

Both basically... just trying to make a little shortcut to setting up wordpress mu sites. Usually I have to do both steps - both modify the dns zones, and then manually edit the httpd file.

Since I'm looking to put a few hundred up that is going to suck. I can put the files in the skeleton folder so they are put on the domain upon creation - now I'm just trying to figure out how to automate setting up the wildcard subdomains, then I'll tackle database creation I suppose.
