Are any of you resellers for wildwest - or any other domain reg. company? Took a look at wildwest today and it appears I can make a profit just renewing my domains there -- even after my 'cost' of signing up.

Little nervous about using godaddy - but since I won't register any sites I mail from there - I think I'll live.

Also appears that if you have the super dooper account you can resell reseller accounts --- so if one of you wants a sale speak up (maybe).

I am a WW reseller. How would one make a profit renewing domains, vs. simply getting in effect a discount?

I more or less "inherited" my account when I bought my hosting company out, as it was originally set up by them. It's not all that great but I've looked at some of the other domain reseller arrangements and they appear to almost universally suck -- one seems about the same as the others.

First of all, hate to burst your bubble but wildwest IS godaddy. Wild West Domains is GoDaddy's brandable reseller.

I did some DN reselling for a little bit.. the profit margains are low as fuck unless you can REALLY pull some deals. Look into eNom as well, most places give you a free 7.95 account or 7.50 account, but if you can get your hands on an ETP - say hello to cheap ass domains.

I did the ww reseller for about a year and to be honest I learned very quickly that the reseller was not going make much early and the competition is tough as hell for a start up.

Most resellers come in with a customer base at which I had zero clients. Other resellers use the reseller to complete their web design and development biz. I could go on and on about bs behind this reseller but I do not have enough time. Also Godaddy owns many of the same resellers competing against you like domainspricedright.com and bluerazor.com aka cheaper fucking prices than any ww reseller will have. Plus they will tell you that they don't but many Godaddy employee's have resellers. Oh forget about the ready made website. You will need to create you own fucking website and then tie it in to their checkout system without fucking everything up and without getting your ssl cert all fucked. Your renewals come with natta fucking thing so you will need to buy all the extra shit you originally got for free, but without discount.

IMO fuck the super dooper big Godaddy dildo in the ass and just search for a some dumb fuck that is selling pro sellers at $99 instead of $199

When an account is closed all business funnels to domainspricedright.com.

If you don't mind using Godaddy as your registrar there is always a coupon code available to get $6.95 reg fees on dot coms and many promos for other tlds.

chill3 is a long time running $6.95 .com promo code.

I appologize for all the fucks in the post but it fuck'n felt good.

I was a WW Reseller but couldn't focus on the website due to lack of customizable feature. For example, when I signed up there wasn't even a way to make new pages, or customize the CSS.

Jump start is hard in any business.

Thanks for all the posts - I know WW is godaddy... I'm not worried about the competition - I'm not hunting down my customers as they are already here. In the last month or so alone we've registered 20ish domains for clients.

Sure that would only be a dollar or so a domain - but we do about that many every month, and with renewals it would be worth it. I'd rather have them deal with the hassle of renewals, being responsible, etc... I certainly don't want to be billing clients in 5 years for 9 bucks a year.

I'll do some more digging on the ETP - I did take a peek at their pricing structure -- and the fee's are kinda crazy for what I'm trying to do.

Everything else just kinda seems shady - probably go with wildwest.

IMO don't buy the super reseller but search and find a super reseller that is offering the pro seller at $99 instead of $199 or you can search for Godaddy coupon code and atleast save some money.

Go to Reseller Roundup Forum - Powered by vBulletin

This is WW reseller forum and read some of the shit on that forum. You will know what most resellers are struggling with and products Godaddy sells that is complete crapola. You may even make a post asking for a reseller that is selling pros for only $99. I bet you will find thousands of starving resellers eager to sell you one.
