So I finally get my first profitable FB campaign and they think its funny and decide to shit in my mouth without mercy.

Why did facebook slap me? They said that this is my final warning with some canned response.

What's wrong with this campaign?

Headline: Like Starcraft?

Body Copy: Find girls that are into starcraft, etc etc

This is soooo tilting, I'm so asian and pissed off and ready to pull some virginia tech shit at FB headquarters.

Is it because the LP is...

1. Geotargeted?
2. Calls out user attributes?
3. looks kinda ghetto and may poorly represent FB?
4. something else?

Anyways, thanks for reading and listening to my rant, here are some boobs

BTW, it points to a generic dating offer, their canned response said something of like misrepresentation or something, but in that case, how am I supposed to play angles?

You pissed off the people looking at your ads some how. FB does not go through all the ads all the time to look for things - that would take way to much time. They have algos that flag accounts based different variables. As some have mentioned before an obvious one is approval/disapproval rating.

The most difficult one to overcome is simply user feedback itself. If people are x'ing your ad and complaining about in a large enough amount relative to your impressions that's a sign for them to look for a problem.

Let's think about what could have happened and how you could fix it.

You targeted internet savy nerds that are probably familiar with dating sites by this time in there life. They were excited at first to see a Starcraft 2 dating website - you probably were able to get a decent CTR at first. With that LP you likely even kept conversions up decently. But what happened once they signed up? They figured out that the dating site has nothing to do with Starcraft 2 and there are no girls on the site that are into Starcraft 2. They got pissed. What do they do every time they see your ad now? They X that shit and complain about it.

So how could you fix it?

Well if you had some SC 2 dating website that would be ideal but that's probably not going to happen. You could mislead them less with something like "SC 2 players have had luck on this dating site" - then have some testimony on your LP about how the site might be generic but for whatever reason it worked for them and they play SC 2. Specifically telling people there are girls that like guys that are into X on this dating site is going to piss them off when there isn't. But if you are more general about it and just frame it as guys that like SC 2 like this dating site maybe you won't piss them off so much.

Also is just comes down to your demo. Techy savy young men. They were hopeful when they saw your ad but knew what was going on the second they clicked through your LP and saw a generic dating site. They know enough about the internet to know they've just been had. They also know about that X button to complain about the ad.

You have a great concept here that can be used for plenty more demos besides SC 2 - maybe some other groups of people are much less likely to make so many complaints about your ad?

Those are some ideas of mine - hopefully it can help you out a bit. The key thing to remember is your account will have a short life if you make ads that get users Xing them. CTR and CVR isn't the only important aspect for an ad on FB.
