Why does YouTube take down my public domain videos?

I have been trying and trying to upload public domain music recordings and films that I found by simply searching on google.

Some sites I have visited - archive.org, freepd.com, musopen, digital history.


People write or say that the music they have uploaded is public domain, but when I try to upload it on YouTube and YouTube blocks it - says its third party content, I find out that it is not public domain after all.

Where can I get free music to use in my videos for monetization?

Hello! Free music can be found on machinimasound.com and incompetech.com. There is a pretty big music database so you should have plenty of tracks to choose from.

Youtube uses a tool that detects keywords in title of the video or any part of video owned by anyone else, so if this tool finds any such part in your video, youtube will take it down.
