I don't know who could beat him, but I do know that he would wipe the floor with Romney or Santorum. Paul would hold his ground against him but I don't think he could beat him. Same goes for Gingrich.
Republicans should just take a flyer on the next elections, and hopefully produce some decent candidates to run up against whomever the Democrats select to run.

Well that's the fault of the Republican party then. I'm not an expert on American politics, not being an American and all, but I've watched/read enough to know that there are Republicans who are not running in this election because it would be too much of a battle to go against Obama. They would prefer to run after Obama has finished his 2nd term. That's NOT a vote of confidence to yourself or your party.
Personally I think Rubio would do well against him. He would get a ton of the hispanic vote (yes people still vote based on race, we found that out with Obama) and a lot of the young vote as well. But I think Paul will come up with some sort of surprise before this election is finished.
