Missing...
Just wanted to see how many people here in WF play. I've been playing for about 8 years; just got into acoustic fingerstyle playing about 6 months ago.

I play...for 13 years now. Main axe is a 72 Tele reissue....pimped it out with some new pups. Also have a mustang that i've been rebuilding for like 2 years now...(can't you tell i'm focused). Also play bass, drums, theremin....there's another thread just like this that was opened recently.

Also got a Guild D-15 acoustic. Self taught and play by ear because I can't read music. Just like to fingerpick and strum along with the tunes. Great stress reliever.

Kinda the same, but unfort. not guitar. Piano/keys, dj gear, suqeuncers, a bit of drums, a bit of vocals... agreed that it's a great stress relief too... Guitar was always damn hard for me - and I'm going to get pwned for this but I still haven't even tried GH << though I know I'd become a sick addict if I got it so I stay away from it and from video games :p (to go even more off-topic - first tony hawk that came out - I stayed up playing for 72hrs or so and my thumb was fangled-addictive personality anyone..?).

Cheers to talent though - love creativity/creators...

I play my friend's occasionally. I don't yet own a guitar but I'm looking to get one. One thing I do not understand is how come acoustic guitars are so expensive?

Yeah, i'm also self taught and believe it's the way to go. All my friends who actually took guitar lessons still suck, and all they got out of it was learnin how to play retarded songs from the radio. There's so much more integrity and pride in your music when you weren't trained to be an elitist asshole that thinks solely in mixolydian doublespeak. It's all about feeling it.

I use work in a music store selling guitars (cringe)...if you're starting out depending on your budget you can get a couple decent beginners guitars for the $300 range and less. I'd recommend Yamaha as a beginners guitar. They're very consistent and probably the best quality for the $150-$200 range. If you wanna spend $300 get a Takamine...also very good.

I've been playing on and off for about 10 years. I recently bought a new acoustic guitar (Yamaha) and I'm starting to play again after a couple of years break.

I am pretty good at playing Guitar Hero. :D I want to learn how to play the guitar. :D

I like ovations for that price range, easy to learn on too.

I play guitar and bass and... well.. keys......and write the music... except I can't read or write music... I don't like it.. find it limiting.
