I dont' have much experience with that many affiliate programs, but the ones that I've had experience with that I find I enjoy (support, plus payouts) is definitely HostGator.

I'm earning $50.00 per sale, and I can cash out bi-weekly I believe (I've just had my account sitting and collecting so far).

Dream host is looking pretty good too, and I've earned up to $97.00 for one sale. Everything else is pretty nice. I find that hosting affiliation is easy, and one of the better paid ones...

Has anyone done any "amazon affiliated" shops? In which all revenue is made through amazon affiliation? How successful are these sites?

I havent run any live amazon sites, but by and large Ive heard the amazon payouts aren't worth it.

That being said, I like the amazon method of providing an api for the reason that you can build a backend that uses amazon, and then pretty easily build 10, 20, or 50 sites in very little time that all use amazon. Just kind of switching around the equation - instead of a few sales that get you a lot of cash, you have lots of sales that get you a little bit.

What eCPM does that give you on your traffic?

I think amazon will gives relatively many sales, since they do books and cd's and things. Something people regularly buy off the internet. Of course your share wont be that great.

These are very good payouts, for sure, but how well do they convert?

Personally I would love Ebay. Amazon is good for converting personal blog traffic, since lot's of people post reviews and such on them.

How many visitors does it take to make one sell? This is probably a stupid question cuz it'll vary per niche, but is it in 1000's or 10,000's?

It depends on the niche very much, as you've mentioned. Some of my sites need around 1000 visitors to make a sale, which is much, but is compensated by high commisions, which are up to a $100 for a single purchase.
