As a peace offering:

Okay, here I go. A few months ago driving in Orlando around my neighborhood I see a Lambo driving next to me. I ask the young guy driving it what the hell he does and he tells me he does Affiliate Marketing. We shhot the shit for a second and it turns out this cool ass guy was Steve from C2M. He gives me his card and thats how I was introduced to Affiliate Marketing.

This thing REALLY REALLY REALLY interests me. Steve actually told me about this site and I have been observing for a while. I havent gotten into much convo here because life has been crazy. Just like Steve, I worked in Timeshare sales with a very big very successful company. Well, I was very good at it and even became a TO (manager) which is a huge accomplishment in the time I have been there.

I did a little bit of research on AM for a while but during the summer time in Orlando timeshare is very busy so I didnt have as much time as I would like to really look into it. I have seen stories of the money made, fallin into a few "makin monies" traps that Steve warned me about lol, embarrasing by the way when your girlfriend is watching over your shoulder. But this is something that I really really want to do. Im tired of working for someone else, I really am.

Well, things went south BIG TIME at the resort I went to. The funding dried up and they are pretty much going out of business. They had a sales staff of about 200 and they are down to 25 now. Out of the 29 resorts, 5 are in Orlando, 4 shut down. I could go on and on but it only gets worse.

I was one of the people let go and the part that hurts the most is that there was nothing I could do to keep my job. My numbers were great and I met every quota but they didnt have any money to pay me. Now I am jobless, looking for something to do with LITTLE investment because money is TIGHT as hell. I mean if I go to a movie I might end up broke.

Its funny cause I remember that a convo that Steve and I had, his journey went a similar path. I am waiting to collect unemployment while searching for a job but I want to do this full force, problem is money. If there are any ideas that you guys can lend to get me started I would really appreciate it. Any ideas that don't require a ton of money to invest.

I am being proactive because I have found a few e-books and a few links that have some good info but as Steve said, there are people that overload themselves with information and never do anything, some people that know alot but are too lazy to act, and people that talk about it and ARE about it. Alot of you ARE about it.

I am headed to Tampa so I will check back here later, I appreciate all and any advice.

Just do it. Join an affiliate network, and pick something to promote. Build a website focused around the product and try to make some sales.

You want some advice?

Before you read any ebooks, buy a domain, or research keywords...... get a damn job.

With no money you could do SEO and eventually bank but as Eli the SEO jedi says, those sites you bust your ass SEO wise on are going to take at least 6 months to show true value. In the mean time they aren't going to pull in enough to pay the bills. And if you can barely afford a movie ticket you can't afford to start running PPC campaigns on a serious scale, especially with no prior experience.

You're gung ho know so you probably won't like that you can only spend a few hours at night after a shitty job you hate but it doesn't sound like you have a choice in the matter. With a few hours a day and no worries that you're going to get evicted you can still cut your teeth on IM and eventually reach your goal, it's just going to take a little longer.

Good luck dude, and get a job.

Agreed, make sure that you can go 6 months without seeing possitive cash flow.

Next, join a network, pick an offer, learn how to set up the links, and track stats, and go for it.

If you have the SEO mindset, run with it.

If you are a number cruncher, media buyer, save up some money and buy ad space.

Honestly, you will learn faster than you could have ever imagined.

This is what happens. You see someone with a nice car like Steve, and find out that he does "Affiliate Marketing".

You can't go to college to be an "Affiliate Marketer" so most people instantly assume that there isn't much learning required. Everyone likes to think "WOW! I wish I would have known about this before! Show me how to do it"

The reality is, that like ANY industry, there is a HUGE amount of people (like 98%) that don't make SHIT, and there is a very tiny elite group that makes the majority of the money. And just because you plan on working 7 days a week, 15 hours a day, that doesn't guerentee you'll make good money.

So bassically, don't think you have found something "special". You've got just as good a chance at making millions in this industry as you do in any other industry. And no one can simply teach you "how to do it" because it's a lot more complicated than that. Personally, I never tell people I do affiliate marketing because that's only a small portion of my income and what I do. I Think of myself as a CEO/Entrepreneur.

Most start off doing strictly affiliate marketing, but once you start making profit, you start to realize... Why don't I just create a similar product so I can make 100% commission and theirs a chance affiliates will pick it up. Or why don't I use this capital to create a network, invest in the stock market, real estate, or start some other type of company.

So guys like Steve are not just doing affiliate marketing... the guy is a part of a multi-million dollar network and who knows what the hell else he owns or has invested in?

I mean, there might be a couple dudes who have only been doing it a few months and struck gold promoting google bizopps with a flog, but something will eventually happen. Just because you have a 1k day, doesn't mean your going to make 365k this year. So the smart thing to do is use that "cashflow" to invest it and diversify your income. Otherwise, your going to find yourself a broke bastard in the very near future.

I'd like to think most of us here don't rely on just affiliate marketing income, but maybe I'm wrong.

Anyways, this is what happens when you take more Adderall than your suppose to. You waste your time writing up a long ass post that probably doesn't even make sense. FML.

My bills are payed with client SEO for small local shops. Super easy competition, decent cash flow, 6 month contracts....

This gives me enough time to dick around and find what IM i am best at, and just grow that.

If I enjoyed working with clients id put that same energy into my brick and morter. Instead, Ill focus on growing the aspect I love, and I am good at.

Find the niche of IM that you are AWESOME at and run with it.

If you suck at all the niches, go pitch Ebooks =P

Definitely agree.. get a job. Patience is key in this industry, don't have the idea that you will earn millions over night. And you won't be increasing your chances by not having a sufficient cash flow (2-5K)

Its not pretty but this is reality, money doesn't grow on trees.

Did Steve mention anything about his secret techniques in Ninja optimization and SE 3?

Nope, don't think we talked about that.

MOAR TITS PLZ.

And good luck.

Yeah I was gung ho at the time of the post and still am but sorta exaggerated about the "broke" part. I have enough money saved up for bills for about 7 months. The problem I faced is that its only for bills so I guess you can call me broke. Lol. Getting a job is not even up for debate, I need one. I just dont ever want to be in this position again where a company goes under and im stuck holding my dick. Thanks for the advice, its much appreciated, more than you realize.

The offer part I am going to work on, learning how to spot a really good one. Im pretty sure I have a TUT on back links if thats what you are talking about so I will read up on that.

LOL, you make sense and I read the entire thing. It's not that I saw the nice car and said "Oooooh shiny!", its that I wanted to learn what lead to that. I like learning, especially from people that have more than I do because they are obviously doing something right. he told me that most people dont make shit and the risks I a well aware of.

As far as other things to invest in, I have a credit repair company that I actually started on accient. I learned how to clean up my credit and took my score from 484 to 710 in 8 months. I started doing it for friends for $200 a pop which didnt leave me much profit and then I got the bright idea to partner up with a car dealership I used to work for. They sell 400 cars a month and the people they cannot finance, they give them my business card and I charge them about $400 a pop which gives me about $350 profit. All I do is make them credit worthy in 3 months and send them back to the dealership. I just started that about a week ago and got a few calls so my cashflow problem wont be a problem much longer.

I guess truthfully its just scary that I am going to start relying solely on myself from now on and my talents. I have many of them but enjoy the "stability" that a regular job offers and it has held me back for a while. I trade FOREX, fix computers and a host of other things but the illusion of stability kept me docile.

Anyway, the truth doesnt bother me, im not an idiot so I wont get offended by you or anyone else telling me the truth. Im a fast learner so even this reply I got alot from. Thank you very very much.

Reality is a good thing, it keeps people from going broke lol.

What you mean by "true value"? How many bucks?

It's going to be relative to the size of the niche. "True" probably wasn't the best choice of wording, I should have said maximum or optimal instead. Llet's say you want a site to be able to bring in $50 a day to consider it worthy of continued SEO maintenance, you won't make that right out of the gate, time has to be spent generating content, getting indexed, moving up in the SERPs, etc... The revenue curve for a purely SEO driven site is going to be much more gradual (i.e. it takes longer) than for a PPC campaign where you can possibly identify proper keywords, split test, and scale within a week or two.

Okay I know Google is my friend but huh? Lol. Im guessing SERPs are Search Engine Result Pages or did I just make that up? Whats that other shit mean?

Wow, I think this is the first noob post that wasn't flamed to infinity,
and not even a single dick roll lol.
You should get in touch with Steve at C2M, they are a good bunch to work with.
Stop buying ebooks and cancel your subscription to PPC Coach (It is garbage), everything you need is here, just search for it.
I have a feeling you are gonna make it.
Good luck!
