Where to find/hire a VA?

I've almost at a point where I would like to hire a VA to do some tasks for me so I can move onto another project. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to where to find a good one. And do you have any tips of what to look for, ask, etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 


You can post in oDesk for free. There are lots of qualified Virtual assistants from Philippines at a fraction of the price of US Virtual assistants. You can pay for them hourly or fixed, its your choice.

You can search on oDesk, payperhour or elance. They are all good. You will get every type of provider there.
 
Yup just hired my first two from Odesk. I had to go through a lot of crap applicants before I found someone within my price range and with a good comprehension of English. Luckily I managed to find two.
 
Odesk and elance can help you with that. The trick is to do an interview as well. I don't have any VA now but when I did, I chat with them on skype. I used to work in HR for a short period of time so I copied the questionnaire that my company used and modify the questions a little bit.
