Where do you sell your domains?

Wicked... I was JUST gonna start a thread with that same heading. :)

But my question was gonna be; For those of you who have experience selling domain names different places - where do you generally get the higher offers / prices? I am trying my luck on eBay right now, but I'm wondering if I would get a better deal out of my sale if I listed it somewhere else.

Recommendations?

I have a set of adult names that are in what I believe to be an unsaturated niche but I just don't have the time or the want to develop them. I have the .com, .net, .org, and .biz. I may try to offload them on one of those avenues or something like GFY.

urgh...where do you find a decent appraisal. One place tells me 27k, another 6k another $60...wtf.

Well, I've had most of my portfolio there for over a year now and I'm not too impressed. I have also heard of others who are now moving their portfolio away from Sedo and elsewhere.

Maybe I will try out AfterNic.

Do you mean you're not impressed with their parking? I don't blame you, there are much better monetization companies out there. As a marketplace though, it's the best public venue you'll find. It's popular, handles escrow, only charges upon sale, ect.

Domains are a unique commodity and you've got to re-learn how you evaluate pricing. For end users, the limit is only how much money you can milk them for. I'm not going to give away all my negotiation techniques but never forget as the seller, you are in the position of power.

Say I have a company called Ghiawhibhjban, and we just got $200mm in venture funding. Well, I'm going to be willing to pay a lot for Ghiawhibhjban.com since I'm an idiot and didn't register it first. Suddenly, a domain with $0 appraisal value is worth $xx,xxx.

There are certain general rules you can assume for typos, TM, and 3 character domains. Some inputs into the formula are traffic, searches, keyword price, TM risk, and premium letters. If you're dealing with generics though, throw any formula out the window.

Remember, the value is always somewhere between max he's willing to pay and minimum you're willing to sell for.
