I run a natural health product website with a really small inventory of around 20 products, all from one drop shipper. On site point everyone with a e-commerce site has lots of suppliers but i cant find any! i did Google searches, their is several websites that claim to give me a list of 135000 drop shippers for 59.95$ a month.

I haven't went into promoting my website yet and the investment has been minimum, in the past i have spent lots of my promotion/advertising money on stupid pointless things like that "list" sounds to be. Is there a way i can get in contact with real drop shippers of these products? Where do i look?

Thanks

Those lists can be pretty shaky from what I hear. Horror stories of thousands of worthless contacts and the like. But unfortunately, I only have advice on what route NOT to take on this one.

I used to run an online store and I found it much easier to just contact the companies directly and ask if they offer a drop ship program. Many do.

I wouldn't waste my money on a list from a third party. Just find the manufactuer of the products you want to sell and contact them.

Yeah, I'd have to agree that worldwidebrands is the most reputable drop ship wholesaler out there. I know they are the only publisher of drop shipper info that is certified by ebay. They are more expensive than the others at $249 for a lifetime membership but at least all their information is legit.

Salehoo is also pretty big. Not as resourceful as worldwide brands but it's only $49. I'd probably stick to these 2 companies since they offer a guaranteed money back option.

Wholesale and Dropshipping Reviews

i've used worldwide brands - ok, but lots of the companies listed are simply middle men for the actual wholesalers - so be careful.

i've set up drop shipping campaigns before w/ firms - just by calling them up and getting them interested in the idea... but honestly, affiliate shit is 100% easier and you can make just as much, if not more $$. It is a huge headache to track sales, deal w/ customers, and the like - plus you have to be careful that you aren't getting screwed by excess shipping costs, etc.

I have one small business I still do drop shippng with- family run furniture company. I called them up, set things up, and did a basic website. Make a few sales a month- nothing big.

Was all cool until they wanted to start their own site- now I can't compete w/ them on price due to our agreement, and since they can obviously undersell me, and have better customer support (their staff at the business) - I pretty much do nothing with it anymore.

Go aff - dropshipping is full of scams and for the amount you will make based on the time you will put into it can really be a waste of time IMO. I'm sure there are people who make it work- but those are the same peopel who could be running 20 good aff campaigns and making tons more $$$ for less work and stress!

oh - I also set up a huge (for me ) site for a type of product.. Found a firm that was set up for drop shipping, set up an account, got my site up and running, and then found out that they were always out of stock w/ everything! I had over 50 products listed - and they maybe had 2-3 at a time. They also overcharged up the ass for shipping.

My opinion is to find small family owned biz and ask to sell their stuff for them, or go aff!

never ever buy any wholeseller lists anywhere. i made good money selling these lists on ebay before they have become strict on their "no lists"-policies. all those lists where of course not really what they promised. because think of it: if would have that unique "i sell for 40% listprice"-wholeseller at my hand, would i share that knowledge for 49.95 with you?

depending on your needs, there are imho two directories worth checking: Alibaba Manufacturer Directory - Suppliers, Manufacturers, Exporters & Importers and Manufacturers: Global Sources for the asian markets. but beware, dealing with the chinese in china mainland, like shengzhen is a major pain in the ass.

besides that, reefer gave imho the best tips: check your city, your area. grab the yellow pages and you will be astonished how many small to middle companies will be in your area. some of them probably have never heard about the interweb until now ;) so, tell them you would do the ecommerce part on a commission basis.

lol, see. that is the shit i was talking about :)

since when does a serious wholeseller requires you to actually pay for getting their product catalogue :) and what sense does it make to start in a program, where everybody else and their mothers get the same conditions (which are probably bad as hell).

the only one making money here is the provider of the portal.
