I've got a 3meg DSL line. It's shitty, but DSL companies usually don't cap your bandwidth (at least in the USA from what I hear).

That's not right, those numbers are way low as Portuguese average is around 18Mb/s.

I have a 200Mb down/20Mb up fiber optics line and plan to upgrade to 1Gb down/1Gb up as soon as it gets avaliable in my area.

Right now I'm in my second home and I only have a 18mb ADSL line here that shares the bandwidth with the tv (the only option in this area, besides mobile broadband that's only 7,2Mbps), kinda sucks.

I get 2-3 Mbps, but like others have mentioned: DSL services usually don't cap your bandwidth, so I can download whatever I want for the most part.
