What's up with these types of sites?

It's just an e-bay affiliate site. Using gimmicky auctions to drive ppl to ebay to hopefully get sales.
 
Ah, but those are real auction feeds displaying right! Or are they all affiliate links! I have noticed in the top right that there is a ebay registration link there also, they get paid for that also? Thanks for the reply!
 
Yeah, you can get affiliate RSS feeds from eBay. I've got a couple of sites sort of similar. It's really nothing special. I thought that site might've had some long, complicated search string to find the unusual auctions - but they just go to the 'weird stuff' category.

If you aren't aware, eBay's affiliate programs are with CJ (commision junction). Signup there and apply for them - sure you'll find stuff to suit your fish site!

An easier way might be to use AuctionAds (aff link) - they pay more than going direct to CJ (loads of advertisers together, so in the top payment bracket) and offer Adsense-style ads (but don't have very detailed tracking).
