I like to look for something that is straight to the point, is at a minimum size and is hopefully available!

What qualities do you look for when buying a domain?

I have a number of 'brandable' domains that I have done bugger all with. They are effectively worthless until developed, but then $$$$$ :)

If you find a domian you like chances are if you don't grab it it will have gone a day/week/month down the line

I maintain a list of cool domains I wanted but forgot to take that are now taken, as a remainder that $6.95 per year isn't much money at all...

As for the main question, I like them small, on topic and cool, but most of the ones I have are long and even hyphenated :D

Easy to Remember
Short
Can be spelled as heard (I'm not going to say to someone, Hey my site is Digg.com, visit it. Oh yeah, we have 2 g's in the URL).

I usually get a list of them, and whichever I can remember the next day/few days without looking at the list again make it into the 2nd running, then whichever's shorter/with the best keywords/sounds best.
