San Diego - I work for Smaxor now
Ok, I am clueless when it comes to buying hosting. So far I have a few sites that are hosted at godaddy since they seemed cheap enough. I was looking at hostgator's plans and saw the $10 for unlimited sites dealy and was wondering if it would work for me.

Basically I want to set up a bunch of wordpress sites, maybe 10-20 of them. I doubt they'll be getting more than 1k uniques a day. Am I correct in assuming I can buy this $10/month package and have all the sites hosted on that one hosting account? Or will I have to put each on a separate one? If the latter is the answer, is there a better solution for me?

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Yep.

Once you're signed up, you'll log into your cPanel and set up add-on domains. In your FTP program, they'll look like sub-domains because they're additional folders all under the base domain but, they all function as stand alone domains.

Then, you just go over to G-Daddy and reset your nameservers to point all your domains to the hostgator domain server.

I think you'll like it.

I'm not a fan of go daddy in general. If I were you I would transfer your domains somewhere else like namecheap, and then go get different hosting.

Amen brutha! GoDaddy sux big dick. I'm switching all my domains to Moniker and hosting is done with HostGator and LiquidWeb. Both hosts fucking rock!

I've never had customer service like LiquidWeb's! Call them up, press two buttons, wait about 0.00005 seconds and I'm connected to an English (American accent) speaking person that can answer questions and fix issues within 5 - 7minutes. My longest tech support call took 7 mins 34 secs.

What benefits will this provide me that the shared does not?
Reseller accounts are nice because you can manage all your sites individually from WHM (Web Host Manager). Each site will have its own login and cPanel etc. Rather than cramming them all under one account and using addon domains.

Haven't any of you guys promoting Hostgator realised the commission is higher if you go through CJ rather than direct? lol

I'm not promoting a link or anything but hostgator has been working well for me so far. And they have me on their live help chat like everyother day (poor buggers). Great Service.
