What exactly does google consider a "bridge page"?

From their TOS:
However, we monitor and don't allow the following:
  • Bridge Pages: Ads for web pages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company.

To me this sounds like they're talking about landing pages in general, but there's no way that could be true. What makes a page a bridge page exactly?

I think they're referring to doorways, in which sites quickly get ranked for heavy terms and then double meta-refresh to some random affiliate link.

These sites are promoted usually via Xrumer or some automated crapshot, and don't last more than a few days at most. Than the process begins again.
