My 10 year old daughter is home from school today with a cold. I went in and checked in on her and she was online at a site called tygirlz.com

The site has a juke box that plays different genre's of music and I was pretty shocked to hear her listening to Judas Priest "you got another thing coming"

she's got her ipod loaded with every Beatles classic you can think of. (as does my 6 year old daughter) and they both know Led Zeppelin when it comes on the radio.

You guys with younger kids, (not you ChrisS) - are they listening to the stuff you like? I'm sure it will change once they get a bit older.

I have no kids but I just recently visited my mom for mother's day and my nieces (15 and 7) are always over there. I think they mostly listen to that pop-country shit (Taylor Swift, etc) and whatever bubble-gum pop is popular at the moment (Lady Gaga?).

I didn't see any Judas Priest or anything else like that on the older one's iTunes while I was clearing the massive amounts of bloatware off of her new-ish laptop. Of course, I didn't look too hard either.

My kids are always going to youtube and finding the "Chipmunks" remakes people do of every song there is.,, they are just laughing away.. funny to here linkin park in chipmunk

Gawd, I hate Yo Gabba Gabba. WTF drugs were they on when they came up with that show?

Anyhow, my 2 year old likes the songs on Sesame Street and Caillou (what's with the bald kid anyhow? like a young Avatar but not as cool) and my 6 year likes pretty much anything. He's too much into games to care about music yet.

<me>envy</me>

I've got to deal with the entire HSM & Hannah Montana cast pumping out "hit" after "hit". No shit, they are ALL musicians.

My little girl does know some very good stuff from the time we spend playing Rock Band & GH ... It makes disney radio in the car much more bearable. That and I've force fed her 311 since birth

Caillou is almost worse than Barney ... Ruff Ruffman kicks ass though.

I worry bout my kids taste as they grow up, between my wife's (linkin park, some metal, etc) and my taste (japanese pop/rock, trance, techno, some classical, rock, etc) have to wonder what kind of mix that'll spawn. But that concern is mild compared to the sadistic humor my wife and I might pass onto the kids.

Jesus, the music kids listen to is starting to scare me more then the thought of having kids itself.

Condoms and Birth control FTW!!!!

But I still respect all the parents out there, keep on keep'n on.
