You can basically download any games/apps without having to pay for it on torrents or forums. My ipod touch is jailbroken and has all sorts of games/apps on it that I downloaded but haven't had the chance to try.
You should still jailbreak it. There are more benefits to jailbreaking your ipad than just pirating shit, even though it is probably the most popular reason. Jailbreaking basically frees you from the constraints that Apple put on the device.

Thats not the primary purpose of jailbreaking, its rather to let you install and run applications not available in the app store (you know stuff apple rejects), you still have to patch to do what you're talking about.
