Sites like shopping.com etc. are blatanly in the business of advertising arbitrage, where they buy traffic on google for TONS of keywords in the hopes of making more money via paid listings and adsense.

I can understand that sites like shopping.com provide some great added value to their site, and benifit from the added value as they get repeat visitors without having to spend on adwords for traffic...

An arbi page is doing the exact same thing, except the page is a little more straight forward.

Example: a shopping.com page ofcourse tries to make the visitor click on a paid listing, same goes for a arbi page.

I guess its the added value of full product information, reviews, etc. But at the core its the same thing.

just in general, anyone who I mention it to at first says that's "cheating". I'm sure the people at WMW thing its bad....anyhow suffice is to say some people just don't like the idea heheh.

I don't think they are "cheating".

I personally don't have any arbi sites because I think they add to the already staggering amount of worthless crap on the internet.

If I see one more page with half a paragraph of generalized crap surrounded by a bunch of ads I'm going to puke.

there's always people that are going to disagree with whatever you're doing
now I'm not saying my arbitrage sites are adding to the value of the internet, if anything just the opposite... but why should I care? I'm not here for the "greater good" of the Internet, I'm here to make money.

Although I'm not really doing arbitrage (not yet, trying to get going with ppc affiliate marketing), my philosophy is that if it's a win-win situation for both publisher and advertiser, there's nothing to be complained.

hmmm...no not bad but if one is to say it's bad they either are a) an uneducated idiot or b) an uneducated idiot that couldn't make money doing it.

Personally I find it to be the funnest thing I've ever done to make money. :D

I don't think anyone here believes an arbi site adds anything to the internet. We all know most of them look like shit and are useless for anyone really searching for something. I, too, feel they are bottom of the barrel in terms of website usefulness. But if both ends are making money, who cares? I'm not here to make the next killer app.

As someone who only clicks on the organic search results rather than ads, arbi sites really don't ever interfere with my day to day surfing.

whats wrong with being the middle guy? If it wasn't for my arb site that company wouldn't be getting as much traffic - its not like I'm clicking on my own ads and doing click fraud...

Actually, I will have to disagree. Personally, my sites aren't garbage and give more information than a lot of the shit out there.

Sure you won't find my sites by searching google, msn, or yahoo because I don't let the bots index my pages.

I buy targeted traffic, they come to my site, I warm them up nicely with information, and send them on there way seeking a service or looking to purcahse what ever they are looking for.

Believe me there is a lot more shit out there that don't have a single ad on it that are wasting space.

Xrproto - if you are spending that much effort on arbitrage text why? have you tested the 5th grade writing method? you want them looking for a way out by the 2nd sentence?

I haven't tried the 5th grade writing method but I keep it between 200-300 words. Maybe I unknowingly do this 5th grade writing thing since most of the time I don't make sense.

I actually don't spend a whole lot of time scrapping some info and re-writting it to my needs. ;)

What is the 5th grade writing method anyway?

Wait a second...I'm going to have to take that half-way back because I do have a site up where I speak as if I offer some sort of service but all they end up doing is clicking on my ads trying to find this said service of mine. :p -

I guess I would classify that as shit but it's shit that makes me money. ;)
