yeah i know - the correlation between load time and SERP position is nothing new.
this study is interesting though because of it´s statistical relevancy. the sample size was ~100.000
btw - sistrix.com is no unknown blogger but rather a seo powerhouse with probably the best seo/sem toolset in the german-speaking part of Europe.
