So it looks like 4-6 of the most hated jobs in the US are fields that we are all involved with. OUCH!

10-most-hated-jobs

Makes sense too. Throughout my 13 year career, i've had my own biz, worked for others, etc. and I must say, this is a pretty tough field of alot of sitting and obsessivly checking stats (weekends too). I need to go on a no computer diet and take more vacations, no more stat checking obsessivly, no more online, no more computer. But is that even possible?

Read the 4hr work week - automate and outsource whatever possible - take breaks for yourself.

I think many here can relate - finding balance of any kind is out the window when you make good money because you have to watch/babysit it and hiring good babysitters can backfire bigtime.

It's possible, I'm actually doing my dieting more and more (almost lost my GF a few times now due to the obsessive nature of this fucking gig). Just have to get over the fear that if you leave, shit will fuck up and if you have no stop loss in place anywhere it's even worse (a VA to stop adwords or double up on campaigns etc). What's nice is when you realize you can leave for a long weekend or a week straight, come back and shit is par, money is coming in and has been even without your eyeballs and mouse all over it 247. That's when you realize that you're not as needed as you think. Once the passiveness starts, and automation kicks into high gear it's just a matter of actually forcing yourself to test 'making money while not even here' and going to spend some instead.

Can relate.

Heard good things about the 4hr work week. Definately gonna read. Thanks.

Funny thing is that 60% of my time is spent spacing out on things. Working to reduce that too. Some of it is healthy. Maybe 10-20% not the 60-80% that is usual, LOL.

I can understand why some people hate it. It does get tedious sometimes and results can take a really long time to actually get to a point you're happy with.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

You hate this?

I did prepress that's electronic file prep in the printing industry for a total of five years.

Compared to THAT, this is like heaven without having to go through the painful process of dying.

Being a marketing manager is tough? WTF, I've known LOTS of marketing managers. Their input wasn't taking seriously because most that I knew had their heads firmly screwed up their butts.

Jeepers. Terrible, terrible, article.

hmmm I didnt see convincing the bottom half of the worlds intelligence pool to sign up for a re-bill on there....

Stupid list. It doesn't mean that the jobs themselves suck, just that the average people choosing those jobs (who were polled) have bad attitudes.

And of course, doing the same basic job for an employer is a vastly different experience to doing it for yourself. A lot of the excuses they cited (lack of direction, lack of reward, etc) don't really come into play when you're calling the shots for you own business.

This is a bullshit list for spoiled white people living in the exurbs. Most hated jobs? Try scrubbing toilets, being a supermarket checker while standing on your feet for hours, third shift convenience store clerk or working in a slaughterhouse gutting pigs for sausages.

I enjoy laying on the beach with a mai tai in my hand. But no one will pay me good money to watch me :(
So I hustle, next best thing.

Any job where you pick what you want to work on and when you want to work isn't on the top 1,000 list of crappy jobs. Go clean out port a potties or flip burgers and tell me you don't want to do IM.

It is bullshit career, not bullshit job.

I can understand why these people hate their jobs. If you work in corporate IT before, you'd understand how it feels to deal with moron users, incompetent managers, unreasonable deadlines, etc.

Granted these jobs are better than cleaning the toilet, but cleaning the toilet is not a fucking career, bro.

Try to compare the regular stats checking to waking up in the morning knowing that you will have to deal with people you hate, in a company that is not yours, and a salary that sucks big time.
