I don't know if this image was actually take in CT. I think it is just a AP image news outlets are using. The westboro baptist church just announced their intention to picket though.
 
We tend to get quite traumatized by the murder of 20 school children if it happens in Connecticut, but not when we do it in Yemen, or Pakistan or Afghanistan etc.

Fuck Westboro, but lets not be hypocrites, evil is evil.

Hopefully saner heads will prevail and nothing terrible will occur if the Westboro Baptist Church shows up in Newtown, Connecticut. The State Police made the extraordinary decision to assign a trooper to each of the victim’s families to prevent unwelcome idiots from tormenting them and to protect their privacy.

I don't think they're a real group... I think they're paid agitators. Their messaging, signs, schtick, etc... are all too on point.

If I had to guess, their mission here is to increase sympathy for the victims and by extension, the brand new assault weapons ban being introduced in Congress.

LOL they're real; when dead soldiers get brought back to their hometowns, these guys go picket their funerals. They don't have to be paid to be agitators, sometimes people just believe some far out shit.

I know what they do; I just don't buy it.

You have no idea whether someone is funding these people or not.

Clearly they have a lot of time and money to go around to all these places with plenty of propaganda materials.

Fred Phelps has 13 kids and 11 of them (including himself) are lawyers and are with the church. They claim to spend $200,000 a year protesting around the country.

It's a drop in the bucket compared to what they're pulling in through all of their litigating and various other ventures.
 
I'm all for Anonymous ruining the lives of WBP members as the WBP are using legal gray areas to do the same. Post all of their personal information publicly online, crowd source billboards with that same information, post private photos of them with their family, fuck it...they're ruining the lives of people who are probably at the lowest points in their own lives because they've lost who they love, might as well reciprocate that pain.

I am so fucking intolerant of intolerant people. I wish there was really a Hell for these fuckheads to rot in.
 
Someone needs to do away with this group. In the literal sense, fuck freedom of speech.. Someone needs to exercise the freedom to shut these clowns up perm and say no problem God did it.
 
also, shit like this is why I think we desperately need church tax reform in this country. These motherfuckers can do and say all of this and STILL don't have to open their books on their tax-exempt land. Fucking bullshit.
