Hey guys,

So I just wanted to double check with you all. We are registering a .com domain with the word "sexy" in it. It's an ecommerce website which is in the health industry so it has nothing to do with the adult industry.

In terms of SEO will there be any implications for using the word sexy in our domain name? How does Google look at this? What should I do to ensure this domain is looked at as clean?

Thanks

This is not allowed pursuant to SEO code 15:5(3).

If you register a domain with the phrase "Sexy" in it, you will find yourself quickly with a domain penalty as well as a deindexing.

Its possible to face automatic google Bot Safe Search Filter cause it will automatically think that the site has an adult content for the rootword "sex" in the domain. Though I wouldn't solely rely on that. If you really need it and if your site wouldn't have any adult content at all then I wouldn't think and worry about it.

It all boils to one thing. If you think you can take the pressure and not rely on Google traffic, then by all means go for it and Google will automatically find your site and put it in rankings in the long run. Other than that just get another brand

Is there a specific reason you would need the word 'sexy' in context of a health website? Or, are you just trying to gain attention from someone looking at your link? Maybe you are not really depending on Google traffic and if that's so, then you are free to have any word you want in the domain name without fear of possible repercussions.

I see no reason to have the word sexy in a health related domain :O,
As far as google goes- i think it might be possible for them to avoid your link /domain/ because *sex*

I don't like adult because it's not allow on our religion :)

you should prob not be here...
