Using Gmail for Project Management

Is anyone doing this? I have been thinking about it lately because almost all of my communication with designers, developers, service providers, etc. is done via gmail already and I don't want to have to input any todo's, follow ups, or work history into a project management app when the data is already in gmail in some form.

I just came across ActiveInbox, which is a firefox or chrome plugin that turns gmail into a project management tool.

Wanted to see if anyone is doing this or something similar?

Wow, just don't use this for projects to build backlinks with... If you know what I mean...
