Using a Graphics Tablet

I am just wondering of the graphic designers on this forum who uses a graphics tablet to edit their images, render, etc. The reason i ask is that i am looking to buy one but i want to hear from others who've gone down this path. Cheers

In my experience, they are cool for drawing abstract things... not so good for technical stuff.

Most likely it will just be an expensive dust gatherer

I don't really do much design anymore but when I did I used one. Started out with an Aiptek that was alright then I got a Wacom which was very nice. It's handy to have, and if you can draw well regularly you can do a lot with it.

I've got 2 wacom tablets, really useful if you do any digital painting. Also if you are having really bad wrist problems they can help out for other stuff.

Thanks for that... so i take it you just use your mouse currently? What are you using for technical stuff?

I could see someone using a tablet for that... its a pretty funny cartoon... i especially like the "Support" cartoon with the tree thats been cut down! Brill!
