I'm doing a PPC - CPA offer :Is it ok to include the word "free" in your keyword list and in your ad copy if your offer isn't strictly free (just free to apply)? My landing page makes no reference to it being free nor does the final cpa page.
I know it's misleading but will i get into trouble with either PPC provider of CPA advertiser?

Common sense should answer that for your specific circumstances.

i tried to consult 'common sense' but he said he wouldn't talk specifics. He refered me to 'conscience' who said it was morally redundant. "but it converts!" I explained and he then refered me to wickedfire.

will i get slapped by yahoo / msn?

Do you really care if you get slapped by Yahoo or MSN? What is that 15% of volume and 60% of headcahe?

And No, you will not get slapped, they will just remove the ad if they deem it as not compliant with their guidelines, just re-submit and you will be ok, in the mean time enjoy the conversion.

One big caveat - if the affiliate program does not allow the word free to be used (see Ringtone Campaigns in Azzogle and many other places) then you are risking not getting paid for any conversions. Check with your affiliate manager if you are not 100% sure it is allowed.
