I searched the forum and google for a solution but did not find one.

Are there any non-resident services for a US citizen with no ties to Canada to buy a domain with this extension?

I was thinking along the line of when a California buys a Nevada Corp with no ties they can pay a Nevada Corp service to serve as their residency.

Thank you in advance for your time.

I attempted this with NameCheap and during the purchase they have a cira agreement to complete where you certify you have an official tie with Canada - residency, corporate, or otherwise.

Same thing with .eu

Seems like you can buy them, then you need a company address.

I am sure there is some service out there for getting around it, but haven't found it. The expensive corporate "trademark protection" domain services probably have offices set up in Canada so they can register domains on behalf of clients, but I think those kind of companies charge huge fees.

there is major demand for the hosting side of things

For domains with Godaddy you can switch your residency over to canada and that allows you to buy all the other domains including .us AND buy .ca. It's retarded

Do they actually enforce those rules? Does it only become an issue if somebody who wants your domain rats you out?

I have some .ca.... I just said I was the purchasing agent or something along those lines... can't remember the exact options listed.
