Ok so I've had a little taste of url rewriting on the apache environment for dynamic sites, what about ASP/.Net sites? Is it very similar to using .htaccess for apache?

Okay right!

I have the answer you need.

I have a server (win2k3) with apache 2.0 installed, find and install the module called mod_aspdotnet that allows you to run .net 1.0/1.1/2.0 asp applications.

Then go ahead and use mod_rewrite how you normally would.

Instant ownage!

I use an open source component called UrlRewritingNet.UrlRewrite for .Net 2.0. It works great, the only drawback is that your url's must end with .aspx

I believe they have a version for the previous .Net if you need it. But anyone not developing for 2.0 is really missing out!

You can download it here http://www.urlrewriting.net/
