How in the hell do you tell how often your site goes down? I got to thinking about it after I went to my site right now and it is fucking down. Is there something I can use to tell if it is down or running really slow and track it?

Yup, unfortunately.

I had a plan with them for around $24 a year (dont remember exact number).. gotta tell you, it's not worth it. you get what you pay for.

Wasn't me, but I agree dreamhost is no longer worth it.

I can't get the fuckers at arovax to e-mail my registration, so I'm gonna try and find someone else.

You can use http://www.siteuptime.com/.

They won't catch all downtimes, but they're decent and you get an email notification.

And Dreamhost...apparently, they've solved all of their major issues, upgraded lots of hardware etc. - http://dreamhoststatus.com/

I'm hoping that this has been a huge learning experience for them and future problems will be less likely to happen...otherwise, I'll really register nightmarehost.com and start the bashing :2gunsfiring_v1:

Dreamhost sucks! For their price, their year deals, it's a decent price..but i just cant afford all this down time!

It all depends on what server they put you on. They are half host, half casino! So far lady luck has been on my side
