Here's an idea that's occurred to me that I thought I'd share, because I can't act on it:

At the moment there is a massive furore in the UK over injunctions. Because we don't have the equivalent of a first amendment, rich people (usually soccer players) can go to court to get an order stopping newspapers from printing details of their extra-marital affairs, bizarre sexual proclivities etc.

Anyone who publishes the details in the UK is in contempt of court, and could go to jail.

However, their names are starting to get out on twitter, where they can't really be controlled. The papers are also starting to get cute by publishing the details of the court orders, with the anonymised initials, knowing full well that readers will use these to search out the names of the people involved.

An immediate opportunity occurred to me: set up an "injunction buster" website outside of UK jurisdiction, get traffic via SEO & twitter. You could monetise via the normal shit that converts for celebrity gossip, and probably do a nice line in t-shirts as well.

(I can't do anything with this because I'm in the UK and don't want to go to jail. However, if you're outside the jurisdiction of the injunction, you'd probably be fine, but check with a lawyer first :P )

EDIT: the UK govt are looking to do something with legislation to reduce the amount of injunctions, but that will take at least a year to become law, as it hasn't even started.

Search twitter for 'super injunctions'. If I wasnt in the UK and such a pussy i'd be all over this

Yep -there are loads. Spend an hour or two researching and you'll throw up a lot of possibilities.

If anyone does take this up and does well with it, pm me to let me know how you do. I'm kind of gutted I can't do anything because I'm in the UK, so it would be nice to enjoy some vicarious success :D
