check out french hosts, they are some of the cheapest dedicated boxes i have seen, and in terms of ping time, is basically the same as hosting in the uk.

I have a few with UK2.

No complaints here - you get free SSL's and they are easy with the IPs.

Fasthosts suck major hairy balls. I'm currently trying elastichosts.com, a new Amazon EC2 style host, and so far they rock.

I've never had a problem with them.

Have a buddy who has resells with them, he has great things to say about the support and serviced.
