Trashing a site, starting from new - SEO Problems?

As the headline suggests, I've got a site that I want to completely start fresh with (deleting old WP posts and the like). Starting over from zero.

The site has been up for about 6 months and is listed in Google. There are a lot of posts that have been linked. If I delete everything, is Google going to sandbox my ranking? Is there a way to avoid this?

on your 404 error page do a 301 redirect to the home page. Other than that, you can rip things out and start over pretty easily, the site is still young. It will drop for a while, but will pick back up pretty quickly.

You should also consider simply 301 redirecting your old URLs and leaving your 404 be. Some people like to use it to monetize, provide a search opportunity, or use the 404 for humorous personal expression.
