Track PPV sources on Tracking202?

I have this setup:
LP popped by PPV network -> pop logged by Prosper202 via embedded JS -> click links to P202 -> logs and redirects to offer. Everything's fine, I see clickthroughs, targeted URLs etc.

Now I want to run the same campaign on another PPV network and realized I wouldn't be able to tell wich network created the traffic. How do you set this up?

I was thinking of two ways, but not sure if there's something better:

  1. Instead of the LP URL, put a P202-generated text ad link into the PPV network. I could see which "ad", i.e. network, generated the pop. Downside: an extra redirect to show the LP, slower, more strain on the server.
  2. Create separate copies of each LP for each PPV network and name them so I can recognize the source. Downside: lots of extra tedious work, the LP URLs become messy, grouping/reporting more difficult.

What do you do?

^^^what he said

Setup the PPV networks in #1.
Then select the traffic source in #7 Get Links

So you guys basically do my choice 1.
In the PPV network, I had put the LP URL directly instead of an ad link from #7. Thought I could save load time and the server some work because in PPV an ad is the same as an LP, and I'm already tracking LP impressions with the JS.

what are you talking about dude? its EXACTLY the same process as for PPC. The only difference is you put the PPV networks in Step #1 (even though it says PPC networks).

Setup PPC/PPV Networks
Setup Aff. Networks
Setiup Aff. Campaigns
Setup LP's
Skip Text ads
Get links with the correct ppv network, correct aff network, correct campaign, correct lander, set bids and go.

Yea wtf is going on?

1 go to setup tab

2 #1 tab

3 add your networks

4 got tab #7

5 move the arrow that you are seeing on the computerz screen over the "ppc network" option

6 get ready to press down on your mouse to click

7 click

8 get your link

9 ??????????

10 profit

I get what you're saying and I will set it up that way. But there is a difference between PPV and PPC.

In PPC, it's like this:
1) display ad
2) click on ad
3) display LP
4) click on LP
5) display offer
You can't track how often your ad shows and to what keywords, at least not from T202.

In PPV, the ad is the LP - at least what I'm serving up is. You track every ad impression as LP impression. So you basically start at step 3). So that's why I thought I could take a shortcut.

Guess I shouldn't.

I think you're trippin out. If you want to direct link, specify that in Step #7 get links. If youre serving up a banner ad or something... drop it in a <html> with the Prosper javascript code on there (so its basically a lander).

You must setup Step #1, #2, and #3

With that said... prosper kinda sucks for PPV bahahahaahha. jk. no, but it really does

No if it's loading your landing page then why don't you just load the tracking link "tracker.com" instead of "lp.com".

So it'll redirect from the tracking link to the landing page.

That's what I've been saying:
ad = LP
You must setup Step #1, #2, and #3
The numbers in the post above weren't T202 setup steps; think of it as a numbered PPC click-through flow. So if you agree that ad=LP and you stuff the T202 Javascript into the ad-lander, then my numbers 1 and 2 fall out of the flow. ...Unless you have another, separate LP - but then you can't put the JS into the ad, you need it for the separate lander. And hard to imagine to put another LP in the PPV flow anyway, at least for my stuff.

Anyway, it's late and I got my answer. Thanks! Going to sleep.

It does. Do you have something better?

I just pass the target as a subid with PHP. Prosper with PPV traffic has been a major nightmare with PPV traffic for me. Loads slow as hell, data discrepancies, etc..

Yep I've had some major shit with Prosper and Trafficvance - I'm starting to push some larger volume now so probably need to start looking at an ad server. I'm moving into buys as well so it makes sense.
