I have not actually tested it myself, but I can't think of other than that it would increase the conversion rate! When doing adwords arbitrage or so with affiliation links where the products are quite expensive, use geotargeting to target rich parts of the world! I'm not talking about whole countries, but rather more like states, cities, and small parts of cities!
