the kid does have some problems. the sad thing is... i don't think his parents have taken him to any specialist on the issues. they might have, but who knows...

anyways, this kid can only comprehend FACTS. that's why he is so good at the spelling bee. If you ask him, "on a scale of 1 to 10, how well did you think you did?", he will not know how to answer b/c the scale is imaginary.

well one way to predict the future is to look at the past....sooo lets see the past spelling bee winners ...like 20 years ago though...+rep to pictures:D
 
I bet he can't wait to get back home to his "room" in the basement with sound proofed walls, no windows, no lights, and a bathroom that's really just a bucket in the corner.

Spelling skills... yes. Social skills... no. Savant of some sort perhaps?
 
Same kid.. Here he is winning the spelling bee.

The interview afterwards is just priceless though. Clearly this kid is also the champion at having some of the worst social skills and/or interviewee skills. Towards the end of it, he gives the reporter (forgot his name) this really cynical but confused look of "wait a second.. you're black!" as if his emotions and perception of reality are kinda delayed. Hahaha!!
