This is entirely my fault. I'm a jinx.

Last week I was thinking, "I'm glad this place doesn't have people pushing that Law of Attraction crap."

Now I am going to try real hard not to think about how glad I am that no giant asteroids are on a collision coarse with Earth.

The Secret's DVD is full of fluffy guru make believe sugarcoating BS but this guy's POV makes a lot of sense.

Yes the whole book and dvds are a big marketing ploy. It works just like any get rich quick program out there. The difference is what you make of the information you are given. The message in the DVDs and the book is basically positive thinking. The marketers behind the books and dvds basically turned that single idea into "the secret". A secret that could change your life. Most people bought into it for the same reasons people buy into the get rich quick stuff. They want results and they want them now. Of course thinking really hard about that new sports car isn't going to make it fall from the sky and show up in your driveway. The main idea is that by thinking positive instead of doubting yourself you start to look at things differently. You start to do things you probably wouldn't do in your negative doubtful state of mind.

You are what you make of yourself. So positive thinking and encouragement will get you farther in life than being a negative nancy about everything in your life and blaming other people for your problems.

It's not anything new, their marketing team is just brilliant. They took a simple idea and spun it into the next best thing. As marketers how can you hate that? It's brilliant.
